Tom Hennings is a husband and father of three beautiful children, accomplished restaurant operator, aspiring chef, and lifelong fan of music.

His first job was mixing dough and making ”melt in your mouth” biscuits from scratch at  Sisters Chicken. College summers were spent on the road painting restaurants and going to see live music.  Tom played on the Southern Methodist University Men’s Golf team and graduated from SMU in Dallas, TX with a BBA in Finance in 1990.  Tom worked for 7 years in the family Wendy’s franchise.   Bread Heads West, an artisan specialty bread company, took Tom and wife Lisa to Scottsdale where they quickly earned the award for  “Best Bread in Arizona”.  Bread Heads West led to a 4 year Regional Operations position at  la Madeleine, a Dallas based bakery/cafe concept. The “Hot Light’ at Krispy Kreme lured Tom into the doughnut business where he spent 6 years in a variety of operational roles fully immersed in the buzz of a wildly successful brand.

After several corporate relocations  and entirely too much time “on the road“,  Lisa and Tom moved their family  back to Texas.  In December 2008 Creative Kindcepts was formed in Dallas, Texas to re-launch Groovin’ on Granola, an idea originally conceived in San Francisco, California.

Tom’s  travels afforded him the opportunity to meet a talented, diverse, eclectic group of unique individuals. Whether selling hamburgers in Ohio, delivering bread in Arizona, baking croissants in Texas, or selling Krispy Kreme doughnuts in Australia, Tom values the personal relationships developed over the years as his greatest accomplishment.
